This is a practical preparation guide, not a USCIS requirements checklist or legal advice.
See where your answers go.
Guided questions are easier to work through than a long PDF, but you should still be able to see what your answers become. GreenCardFile’s app preview places supported answers on a draft of the official I-751 form. Open it while you work, then close it to return to your questions.
The small interactive tour on this marketing website is different: it is a simplified illustration with fictional details, not the official form. The tour shows the idea without asking for your personal information.
Check more than spelling.
- Names: check each person’s name and how it is divided between the available fields. Look for missing middle names or an answer assigned to the wrong person.
- Dates and places: compare them with the information you confirmed. Check the full date, not just the year.
- Addresses: check apartment or unit information, state, and ZIP code. Make sure mailing and physical addresses reflect your answers.
- Choices: make sure the selections on the form match what you meant in the questionnaire.
- Long answers: look for cut-off text or anything that needs your attention before a final filing.
If something is wrong, return to the relevant question, correct your answer, and check the updated preview. The preview is read-only; your answers are the place to make changes.
A blank field needs context.
A partly completed draft can have blank fields because you have not answered yet, because a question does not apply to your answers, or because the area is not filled by the preview. Signatures remain blank. A blank alone does not tell you which explanation applies.
Use the questions and their help text to review the answer, and consult the official instructions for how to complete the form. Do not assume a blank is correct—or add something only to make every box look filled.
A preview is not a completed filing.
The current GreenCardFile preview is marked as a draft and is not for submission. It helps you check information as you prepare. It does not establish eligibility, check the legal sufficiency of your evidence, add your signatures, or send a petition to USCIS.
Your supporting documents also need their own review. Keep them organized alongside your answers using the I-751 document organization guide.
Before you file
Check the current form, instructions, and filing information on the official USCIS I-751 page (opens in a new tab). A document collection or form preview is not confirmation that you have met the filing requirements. For advice about your situation, speak with a qualified immigration attorney or accredited representative.
